JM&A's experience dictates that we can not be all things to all potential clients. Therefore JM&A has limited, geographically, its client base. JM&A's clients are typically any small to medium size local CPA firms and private employers located in the San Fernando Valley, Downtown Los Angeles, West Los Angeles, San Gabriel Valley, Canyon Country and surrounding areas. Today, gas and travel time to and from work are critical factors in whether a candidate will consider a career opportunity. JM&A carefully selected these areas because large numbers of CPAs live in these communities. Over the past several years JM&A has painstakingly developed a list of candidates in these areas that is second to none.

Candidates

JM&A specializes in placing CPAs or people who have demonstrated the ability and the passion to be a CPA. A typical JM&A candidate has three to ten years experience working in public accounting. They usually had a balance of Tax and Audit experience. Many have had business management experience. Those in private industry either have prior public accounting experience or have met the "G" track requirements as required by the California Board of Accountancy.

The candidates vary from experiences bookkeepers to tax accountants, auditors, supervisors, managers and partners. JM&A has a nitch specialty of placing forensic accountants and valuations analysts.

Unfortunately we do not place clerks, general ledger and cost accountants. We believe there are other firms that handle that level of candidate quite well.

Jackson McCarthy & Associates recruit candidates based on a rigid set of criteria including: education, professional experience, personality, location and flexibility. We work with candidates who are professionals, know what they want to achieve and appreciate the contribution we as recruiters make to their careers.
